Pirin Ultra is a mountain ultramarathon, taking place in the heart of Pirin National Park, Bulgaria. The park is part of UNESCO World Heritage List and offers extremely suitable terrain for skyrunning, as well as amazing, beathtaking views. Pirin Ultra marathon was first conducted in September 2016, when it accomplished great success among runners, visitors and all mountain running fans. Since 2018 the race is part of the Skyrunning World Series. The race offers 3 routes to the participants - the ultrarun classic - 160K, the middle distance 66K and the new route, launched in 2021 - Pirin Extreme 38K. Pirin Extreme is a highly extreme route, taking runners to one of the most technical and demanding sections in Pirin mountain.
